This will mean that the vast majority of Australians who want to play LFD2 will be forced to pirate the game, as there will be no truly legal means for them to acquire the title. This is obviously bad for Valve, and bad for the public opinion of Australia's government.
Assuming you had already taken out the two turrents at the top (the ones next to the fans), look up from where the turrets were and you'll see a room above, with no portal-able walls in it. Notice the floor you are standing on is portal-able... Make a portal here on the floor, then jump off the...
What socket does your motherboard have? If its a 939 you can get a dual core proc pretty cheaply (they're less than $70 US already).
I'd upgrade the computer if I were you. All you'd really NEED is a new CPU, but a new motherboard, CPU, video card, and RAM would obviously make a much larger...
I managed to get around the strider's blue beam o' death by turning the difficulty down from Hard to Medium just long enough to be able to hit the switch to call the tram. From that point on you can use Hard w/o an issue.

Should work great. :) It used to run fine (this is not the first time I've played the tech demo) but not anymore.
I can run other source games such as HL2, SIN, and HL2 mods just fine. But if I try to start Lost Coast, Steam attempts to start it, I see a window quickly open, them minimise, then close, and presto, it's gone... like I never tried to run it.
