I can run other source games such as HL2, SIN, and HL2 mods just fine. But if I try to start Lost Coast, Steam attempts to start it, I see a window quickly open, them minimise, then close, and presto, it's gone... like I never tried to run it.

I tried deleting all the local content and redownloading it, I've tried deleting all local content, closting steam and deleting it's steamapps directory and reinstalling it, and nothing solves the problem.

Can someone help me please?

Maybe your system doesn't meet LC requirements. Mine didn't. What's your specs?

Mobo: ASRock 939DualSATA-2
Video: Geforce 6800 GT Oced
CPU: Opteron 165 OCed to 2.7 GHz
RAM: 1024 Megs
HDD: SATA2, over 250 Gigs free.

Should work great. :) It used to run fine (this is not the first time I've played the tech demo) but not anymore.

Since I had the same problem with Episode One, I thought I'd post the solution to this problem:

Bring the desktop resolution to 1024x768 (mine was originally set to 1280x1024), and start the game.

From here you can change the game's resolution to whatever resolution you prefer, play the game, and once you exit you're free to set your desktop back to your original resolution.

From here on out you shouldn't need to mess with the desktop's resolution again to play the game (at least NIME). Must have something to do with the updated engine's ability to change the current resolution the first time it's started.
