I am not trying to be rude, but rather than have a pretender to this franchise, I would rather not have a sequel at all. I saw a lot of better studios ( better than a few fans, I mean professionals ) that failed at making games. So if you want to do a sequel, it will have to be better than what...
For me they both are better for different parts of the game.
Half Life because of the atmosphere, sometimes claustrophobic, sometimes hopeless, fighting ALONE something unknown trying to survive. The feeling of loneliness ( most of the game ) in the face of danger. Discovering that in fact there...
Since no one wants to take you seriously you could try this:
http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Borealis
There is a lot of speculation about what borealis might be or contain, mostly based on what is discused in game.
Mark Laidlaw said that the Gearbox games are canon unless stated otherwise by Valve. And he said that the destruction of Black Mesa is indeed canon.
You could check this:

or this...
It seem you're new in this universe (Half-Life universe) so let me tell you welcome. You may want to check out this:
http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline
And besides the timeline you could learn a lot of stuff about Half-Life an Portal from this site.
Still, what about this:
"Announcer: We are currently experiencing tehnical difficulties due to circumstances of potential apocalyptic significance beyound our control"
This is why Chell was woken up at that time, but what are those circumstances? Is it possible Valve forgot about this till...
Maybe i don't remember well, but didn't the anouncer voice say in the first chapter something like "in case of an apocalyptic event"? Then I thought that is the reason why Chell is awake, but at the end of the game everything is calm outside. So where is the "apocalyptic event"?
Want:
- deeper cinematic experience
- more claustrophobic, and more time alone, like first half-life
- longer, like hl2 (this is not likely, but still...)
- to find out more about g-man
- maybe to see the combine world, or revisit xen, or both
Do not want:
- to be short
- Alyx to...
Man, I like you. It's not like i want her dead, just some time without her, like a whole game or so. I liked more when you were alone, like in hl1 or hl2, before ep1. You meet people, but they don't stay with you to stress you out.
Pi Mu Rho, yes, you can do it, but why do it? Someone who didn't played the game started the thread, but maybe others still had something to say. i'm not so old on this site, i made my account for another thread about g-man, and someone said something about necromancy, that the thread was very...
well, i should say that i'm sorry... but it doesn't seem fare to close a thread whenever you like to. it's not like he offended anybody, he just does't play a game, no real reason to cut him off, to say so. and it doesn't matter who opened the thread, there are others who want to discuss that...
@KineticAesthetic, you know, i liked halflife2.net very much, but it seems you su*k it big time. who the hell are you to close threads? people want to discuss, and you don't let them. so, what are you, some kind of fu*k-kingcommunist? maybe we should search other halflife fan sites, your site...
