1024 plus AA/AF or 1280 with no AA/AF??

I'm running HL2 in 1280x960 with 4xAA... I get *just* playable frame-rates with occasional choppiness.

What I'm wondering is if I'd be better at 1024x768 with the full AA and AF settings and a better fps. I tend to think the higher resolution is better for the immersion.

Anyone have any opinions?

(I have a cheap "nobbled" 9800XT ie. 128bit memory bus)

Actually I bumped up all my settings in 1280x960 to 16xAA and Full AF... and it runs the same speed anyway! So the question is moot!
