I woke up at 4:45am to play today, boy was i disappointed, the game was running so slow and kept crashing. nothing is overclocked on my computer, CS:S gets about 100fps average, and the cooling is pretty decent. I'm using beta drivers Forceware 70.41 I believe, anyone else have trouble with similiar drivers/specs. I'm at work now, so I can't really test much, but I'm open to suggestions for when I get home, please help!

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
1.5 Gigs DDR400 RAM
BFG 6800OC
Chaintech vf3-250 board

What settings are you running at? Resolution? AA? AF? Do you have virus protection running? Your system rocks... I have a P4 2.85GHz with 1GB DDR400 and a 6800GT, so the only area I am better is the video card. But people with much lesser cards than you are playing great. Provide some more info and lets see if we cannot get you screaming fast again :)

dont run beta drivers... i also had problems in some games... get some others 66.xx from guru3d.com

I have:
2.8c
1gig ram
6800GT w/ 128mb

I found that turning AA off, but leaving AF on got rid of lots of stuttering in the game. I am using 66.93 drivers (latest from nvidia site) and it works well. Remember, they are BETA for a reason!

Well I guess the reason I'm so stumped is I used the same settings in CS:S and it ran outstanding...

1280x1024(LCD)
AA was at either 4x or 6x I think
AF was at 8x or 16x
everything set to high
reflect world

the intro in particular ran so bad, I was so disappointed the second it started jumping around. I'll try regular drivers when I get home, hope that will help, but I found that the beta drivers were much much faster in CS:S
