No, halflife 2 doesn't... I don't think any game out takes advantage of dual core yet. But theres a bug with the newer 80series nvidia drivers that cause the game to hardlock unless I set the affinity to 1 core. I'm guessing nobody has an answer so I'll just change it manually everytime. Thanks anyway.

also on a dual; troubles
Hey, I don't have an answer for you, but I was wondering what kind of problems you were having, because I too have a dual core, and it is doing something funny...
When I first install and play the game, I can play for hours!!! but if I stop (exit the game), and try to play again, it freezes (and crashes) when I get to a 'load point' or a very intense animation.
I reinstalled to factory setting (scrapped everything, and returned to scratch), and then reinstalled, and the same thing described above happened. I was able to play the first time - and i got further than the first time - but when I exited, I couldn't get past a load point...

I tried turning off the dual core (which one do you use 0 or 1?). Didn't seem to help, but is the only way to do so, to ALT+TAB during the loading of the game, and then changing the prop of HL2.exe?

hmmm. I didn't have that problem exactly. but I've updated to the newest drivers and I haven't had a hardlock yet... maybe make sure your up to date.
another prob I'm having is low FPS on a couple maps (cs_militia) but only in certain spots or if there's alot of people in the server. but I get low fps in some other games like cod2, fear, q4... newer games pretty much. anyone else have that?
