What if you think your the good guy fighting the "evil" aliens off the planet but in reality you are actually doing the opposite and helping the bad guys fight the good guys!? And the G-Man is actually part of the combine, Total mind blow....

I think that the people at PC gamer thought of that already, they said that in that case gordy would change sides halfway through, i tend to agree with them. Although I doubt thats the plot. If we can guess it with no clues than i probally wont be very good.

that would be a really cool little twist there... just gotta wait and see what the story is :imu:

Well, Gabe already said that the game begins with Gordon waking up, and the last thing he remembers is accepting the job G-Man proposes to him (from ending of HL1), and he doesn't know how he got to where he is now or how much time has passed, etc (btw, there is time travel in HL2). So you probably don't know who is good and who is bad at first (even the G-Man). But the combine have that huge tower in the middle of the city slowly eating the city away, so I think it's safe to assume that the combine are eeevviiilllll.

Where did you hear that there was time travel in HL2?

Well, Gabe has hinted towards it a few times, and if you know anything about the *cough* l e a k *cough* then you know that the game definately involves time travel. It's done via portals (like the portals in HL1 that transports you to the alien world). Heh, this is why I think G-Man is Gordon, or it would be a cool idea at least. Just think, the ending of HL2 is the beginning of HL1....Gordon goes back in time as G-Man.

Gabe also said that the game would involve some really surprising plot twists. So it could definitely involve the good guys turning on you or realising the good guys are bad.

good guys, bad guys, cant they be a bit of both?

im sometimes a goodguy, but sometimes im a badguy too.

Yeah.. sounds quite right.. as some here said before: G-Man maybe is [G]ordon free[Man] itself, or maybe freeman just has amaginary friend, just like the movie "Beautyfull Mind", quind psyko person :O

I thought that the Gman is Gordon as well. Maybe he will tell us who he really is sometime HalfLife3, or at the end of HalfLife2. Why do you think that G stands for Gordon and man is an abbreviation of Freeman.

I also thought that in the E3 movie of Gman Emotions he said,

"We've been rather busy in your absence Mr Freeman."

and

"Pay attention Mr Freeman, I'm only going to say this once."

Maybe these are scripts from the beginning of the game, then he describes what you have been upto. Maybe not directly about you, but what you have achieved in the war efforts. Cause and Effect scenarios don't nessecerily have to have a long introduction.

Hey, this isn't crazy. This is just points that have been discussed many times before...
Other kids had imaginary friends like bunnies or fellow toddlers. Gordon Freeman was not like other kids. He had the G-Man.
