Adding custom sounds

Not quite sure where to put these weapon sound files....the read-me says to palce them in sound/weapons...however, there is no weapons folder....and ive tried putting them in every folder in the sounds directory without any luck....

Probably a simple explanation but im lazy.....anyone know?
