9) Half-Life 2: Aftermath from Valve
Usually we don't include expansion packs in these sorts of things, but when it's Half-Life, we're more than willing to bend a few rules. Aftermath begins where Half-Life 2 ends off, hopefully giving us closure on some pesky cliffhangers which have been haunting our dreams the past year.

They're owned by IGN aren't they? I respect their opinion about as much as I respect... well, IGN's opinion. You know, not a lot at all.

From all those games listed, I'd choose UT2007 for #1.

Bioshock is unlikely to come out next year either IMO. They announced and then... silence for a year and a bit.

STALKER will come out next year, but frankly actually seeing the E3 video put me right off. No matter how many delays they've had, if the developer can't even put out a professional looking video for the world's biggest game expo, they're in deep trouble.

When Bioshock was announced, and the first concepts shown, I can hardly say I was excited. Creatures in a WW2 base? Nazi experiments anyone?
Meh.

Meh.
You forget the most critical fact against the game:

it's not actually System Shock 3...

I was intersted though, because at the end of the day it's a Horror FPS RPG. They come round about once every decade...

There are rumours that it's a spiritual prequel to the System Shock universe.

"Spiritual Successor" was the term that was brandished around, but that just means that it'll share gameplay and story elements. RPG, Horror elements are confirmed as in. Experiments are in. It's similar but not part of the continuity, simply because EA are squating on the license. If they were really doing something in the System Shock continuity, they'd just give us the sequel that the second game so clearly promised.

I don't want a sequel to System Shock 2. Really. the cliffhanger ending of System Shock 2 is actually more satisfying left without further continuation. (Although I'm being a hypocrite. If a sequel ever came out I'd be the first one to catch a bus to the store.)

That is true, its just the premise to didn't hook me straight away.

If they don't do expansion packs then why is Burning Crusade listed there aswell? :|

Ill be buying most of those games and more!
