So after indulging yourself in a ultra realistic HL2 theory, what do you think Aftermath can have in store for us. Apart from the usual new weapons and typical things you find in a sequel pack, what do you think the story behind this new game may be. I'll start you off...
As the citadel is rocketed into space...

(Ihope you HL2 whizz kids come up with some enjoyable theories, because I love reading them)

Actually the citadel isn't rocketed into space, as Aftermath begins, it still stands, although it's about to blow up shortly taking everything out.

We know that Gordon and Alyx survive, but what of Eli and Mossman :thumbs:

The explosion got sucked into the portal which went into the combine world, so the top of the tower got owned bad, the combine world got hurt really badly. Gman teleports you and Alyx down to the street level, but alyx is badly injured, and the combine soldiers are on red alert as the perimeter fences are down and the aliens kept to the country areas flood into cities. e.g. ant lions and bullsquid. Also stalkers are released from the combine grip and attack everything in their path due to their pissed off nature now. Its the combines job to survive, and Gordon and Alyx to survive as well, while battling their way to a certain objective which i'm sure will resolve the 'pest control' issue as well as the combine. It will be concluded just as you are completeing your task a large event happens and Gman stops you, takes you to the side and tells you, you are gonna have to wait for this...while i decide which side you should fight for. End of my theory (warning contains 99% fact)

How do we know we will play as Gordon...Doesn't matter either way, the tower is useless until someone repairs it and takes cammand.
Eli and Mossman are probably fine...

It was confirmed you play as Gordon BY the guy who interviewed valve, who asked em', and they said Gordon. end of.

It was also confirmed the first part of the game is in the citadel, fighting your way out of it.

Exactly! But no matter what form it may takes, I demand to see it! If the player gets knocked unconscious when the citadel goes boom, I'll be veeeeeeeeeeery upset.

I reckon you'll be far from it then....

Come to think of it, all games need an exiting climax, and I left wondering, what suprises do we instore for us in Aftermath? The only story thread currently is you fleeing from the citadel as it prepares to go boom.

I am left wondering....

I don't get how you can end this expansion well? the G-Man will have to come after you do something cool...but whats left to do? go to other cities and free them...that seems very unlikely...and after the 3rd city i think gordon would get bored...
