At the end, where G-Man Stops time.. do you really think that she dies?.

I mean, she could be another person that the G-Man offers "a job". Just like Shephard from Opposing Force. What do you think?

And no, I don't think she really dies. Valve put to much effort in that character to just let it die.

edit: nice try, but spoiler tags are not recognized by the preview system, so the sentence still shows up if you hover over your thread with the mouse. I'm not trying to bully you, it's just that a lot of people come here for various reasons, and they are really scared to see spoilers.
 
I dont think she died. If she did gordon would probably be dead too.
 
I don't think she dies.I'm guessing the Gman gives her an offer too, because Alyx is pretty useful
 
gordon survived because the gman took him away.

the only chances i see for her are being saved by the gman (i think thats rather unlikely, but who knows), or the explosion is sucked up by a portal, as some ppl assumed.

if they really let her (and, not to forget, everyone else in the city?) die, i'd be seriously pissed. :frown:
 
I was thinking that she'd be offered a job by the G-Man, anyway.. perhaps we'll see :).

I really couldn't imagine Valve killing her off - after they put so much effort into her. Same for Barney, can't see him dieing either.

Including Eli, Kleiner, Alyx, Barney etc.
 
It isn't wroth speculating since it's impossible to know.

Alyx getting hired by the G-man would be a pretty boring plot twist.
 
I doubt she would be offered a job. Even if she wasnt the gman would save her as well as gordon (if he did save him, for all we know the explosion might not have killed them)

indeed. i just can't believe valve would do that to the player after putting him through all this. have him kill all of his friends, and thousands of others. :|
 
Since Eli,Kliener and Barney made it out fo Black Mesa, I am sure they will be around later.....
 
how do we even know that the explosion was big enough to kill even alyx? it could have just knocked them back... there is no way of knowing just how big that explosion was.
 
Exactly. Except breen said it would destroy the whole citadel so it probably would have killed them, but he could be wrong.
 
The Gman is the good guy : he is an ally of the vortigaunts and of the resistance.

Alyx is a member of the resistance.

Conclusion : Gordon is like a lab rat : the Gman puts you in a labyrinth, and one way or another you'll find a way to the exit.

But he talked about that when he thought he was gonna get through, ie it would be produced during him being teleported, didnt he? Since gordon ****ed it up for him it might not have been produced.
 
who knows even if alyx kleiner or barney or eil are going to be in hl3 because they could have a gap spanning years in between hl2 and hl3
 
They could do anything they want, but they better explain some things in HL3 or I'll be pretty mad.

Agreed. You'd guess the explosion killed Alyx at least, and the G-Man would have no interest in bringing her back. Gordon is special for some reason, and the game almost seems to be building a mythos around him.

They could arguably keep Kleiner/etc, but for Alyx they're going to have to do something hokey like say she got cloned from old DNA or something.

Maybe gabe got stuck and didn't get that far, but didn't want to admit it to the rest of the Valve guys because he'd look like a wuss? One day they're going to come shuffling into his office and say 'Uhh, Gabe, we've got some bad news'.

He talked about an expansion about Alyx's backstory. So it doesn't matter if she lives or dies at the end of Half-Life 2.
 
Well we know at the start of hl2 the gman comments on the effort gordon does and what not, no other man deserving to rest yadda yadda. He might have saved her life just on the premis of keeping gordon happy.

I mean how many telporter accidents, bombs, alien invasions can you put him through with out him giving up and putting a gun to his head and saying jesus do it you're self for once.
 
Perhaps now that Gordon knows he's nothing more than a hitman, Gman will use Alyx as Gordon's incentive to complete his next mission.
 
i've got sooo many ideas for the alyx character .. hopefully valve have got some too, and don't just kill her ..

There is nothing to suggest that the explosion destroyed the citadel in a split second. There might be plenty of time to get out. The explosion might have only knocked Alyx down, HL2 is hardly a realistic game.

It is not nessesary that Alyx is saved by the Gman. There are other options that could be used: enough time to simply run away, found a teleporter, a helicopter, saved by Dog.... There are endless possibilities.

Basically I doubt Valve will kill Alyx.
 
alyx did not die, after the explosion the g-man heads towards alyx and says something like she might be useful and that he might have an offer for her in the future...

I dont remember him saying anything like that. He says to you:
"I have received some interesting propositions for your services."

Still unlikely that she dies.
 
I saw Alyx have stoped from time and G man will care about her. I felt Alyx should'nt die!
