An extravagant fake alien landing hoax?

Could it be done? Could a group of talented guys build a fake spaceship and land it in a densely populated area then send out a man dressed as an alien to make peace with the frigthened primitive locals?

With enough money i think it could last a couple of days. Reporters could fly in from all over the world questioning what this anomaly is, driving the world into a frenzied stupour over the possibility of other intelligent life. I think it could be done. Your thoughts?

a good alien suit is very plausable. But a plausable spaceship? nah. It would be to hard to set up the actual event.

Not to mention who ever is in the alien suit might be shot or captured by the military.

Theres other hoaxes you could do though. Like have someone do really awesome zombie make up on about twenty people.
Have them run randomly in a public area, bite a few selected people, they have fake blood packets that squirt out, they collapse, then get up and attack someone else. You would have to be awesome at acting though. not to mention, another risk of being shot

A zombie hoax in certain countries (U.S.A) would not work in the sense it would be dangerous. Too many people would rush home to grab their guns, ammo and trailers to begin their vigilante fantasies.
