I was wonderign if anyone here knew how to make AA or AF work in HL. I have a nVidia GeForce FX 5500. I tried going into to card setting and creating a profile for hl.exe and turned AA and AF to 8x, but neither worked in game. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you running HL in OpenGL or D3D?
FSAA/AF works fine in HL for me, but I have an ATi card.. so I couldn't say how to do it on an nvidia card

On Nvidia, right click on desktop, Properties, Display, Advanced, now click on whatever card you have, and then the side menu on the left press opengl, and then select something and somehow set your antialiasing level by a scroll bar. Depends really on what card you have I think.

Im running it in OpenGL with latest video drivers.
I just found otu if I set AA on for global settings it works but not if i set it for the profile. Any ideas why the profile isn;t working?

Is it the right hl.exe? Make sure you're making a profile for the one in your Steam/cstrike folder.

The problem is with the HL Launcher I think... Someone post if they know for sure the correct executable and the path to it to recommend.

*Edit: btw, this doesn't really belong in off-topic...
