So I'm thinking about buying a joystick, but I've never owned one and I honestly don't know a thing about them. I'm tired of flying and aiming with the keyboard and I'd like to get my flight simulator on to boot.

Anyone have any recommendations or insight into the matter?

One that can rotate left or right at the base of the stick is a plus (for rudder and/or rear rotor control). I mostly just want one that feels solid and has good rubber feeting.

Also, I would like one that will last. I don't mind recalibrating every six months or whatever, I just don't want it to become useless after two years.

Raz and I have this, it's quite nice.

If you're doing flight sims, you'll want a throttle. This is probably the best value you can find for a joy+throt

It also has good control profile software.
