Anyone disapointed with the weapons?

I am.. I was hoping for more, the only interesting one is the manipulator :(

I too was kinda hoping for more exotic weapons, and also more of weapons... but the game still rocks! :D

I liked the pheromenes or whatever they are now called, those were really cool.

Weapons are fine, better then the previous selection in HL1.

yeah i am disappointed.
i was hoping for more weapons.. especially more alien weapons.. thats not to say i didn't have fun with the ones in the game.. just that i expected more.

I liked the weapons, but I wish the SMG and the I-Rifle had a scope with zoom capability. Also the weapon accuracy was sub-par and very sporadic. I felt like a noob firing them because I kept missing even though I lined up my targets perfectly. Especially the smg.

It would have also been cool to use the combine sniper rifles.

The weapon selection is about quality over quantity. You have two distinct handguns, two distinct machine guns, a sniper weapon, a rocket launcher, the manipulator, grenades, phermon pods. I don't see how the diversity could have been any greater. Each weapon was useful in its own way, and the player wasn't burdened with a menu full of useless entries.

I thought the weapon selection was fine. I loved the Overwatch Assault Rifle. Awesome weapon. The sound of the thing was great.

I wished that the SMG was a little more accurate but that just might be the way that it fires. Still a cool gun when shot in bursts.

I'd rather have a few awesome weapons(like in HL2) than a ton of mediocre gadgets/guns.

I hate the crossbow, even though it works quite well, I'd like a real sniper rifle with real trajectories and velocities for sniping.

I thought they all worked quite well, I thought the crossbow was really cool because the bolts curved in the air and you had to judge the distance and curve in order to get a head shot.

Im disapointed, but only slightly, Im disapointed that the overwatch gun and sub have a HUGE fireing range, I use the pistol or Mag mostly as the rapid fire guns are just useless to aim with.

Grav gun I dont really use that much, but its very cool, love the shotgun, and the rocket laucher is cool.

The magnum is the best gun in the game. One hit wonder, its like a hand held awp. I use that thing the most there just isn't enough damn ammo for it. Stupid ammo.

The Overwatch gun had a great secondary attack. The crossbow was also cool, as is the rocket launcher. :D I still hated the fact that both the .357 and the shotgun had reduced ammo from the first game. :|

 I loved the guns that were given, except the ammo caps-gay. But, I am kind of disappointed of the variation in weapons. I was hoping there'd be more cool Sci-Fi type weapons.

yeah ammo cap did suck. i have a spas-12 just like that and it holds eight rounds + 1 in the chamber. the six shot spas has a shorter magazine tube that is not as long as the barrel. it did have the "feel" of a real spas though.

yea, the Magnum is the best, one shot in the face and your brains will be splattered all over the place.
I cant even count the number of Combines who I shot in the face with it.

nothing more satisfying than a shotgun to the head of a zombie
Though the shotgun is nice, I would prefer a 357 to the head or nailing someone to the wall with the crossbow...

is there a command that can make the grav gun even more powerful in the game, even early on?

The commands that start with "physcannon_" can make it lift heavier objects, reach more distant objects, and shoot things harder.

Yeah, I could've done with a couple of more "high-tech" weapons... maybe I just miss the detpacks, or the fact that hopper mines can't be picked up like a weapon. Hornetgun might've been interesting in Source, mind :naughty:

As for capping the magnum at 6/12... wah? 6/36 was bad enough.

Leaving the Overwatch Standard (Pulse Rifle) at 30/60 was a nice touch, as it made you appreciate it more when you were left to resort to weapons like the SMG... but it still got annoying when I saw just how much ammo I was leaving behind sometimes. Says to me that they made the game before tweaking the max amounts.
