Anyone Else With Random Crashes?

First, my rig is definitely in spec:
AMD FX-62
590 SLI Mobo
8800GTX PCIE
4GB Memory
Windows XP x64
SB X-Fi Fatal1ty Edition

However, I keep getting random lock-ups and crashes. I thought that it might be related to auto-saving so I've disabled that but the crashes are still happening.

Anyone else experiencing this?
 
havn't crashed, but had a sequence once, didnt work right or somehting. was as if a bug was left, but none were to be found
 
I crashed once and stuttered sort of badly two other times.
 
I have only 1 crash since I uninstal Avg [when TF2 beta was relased]
 
Hmmm... maybe the key to having non-crashing is to disable virus programs while you play. I've had many instances of AVG trying to "lock down" games I'd just installed.

My machine is running on a totally fresh install of Windows with no anti-virus installed at all. I actually meant to install it when I re-installed on Monday night but just forgot. So, it's not AV software in my case. :-\
 
I got a few crashes last night at the site of the first Hunter battle. My car fell through the map.

Other than that, no problems.
 
Crashed twice on hl2 episode 2 after a clean install, only thing installed are drivers, windows updates, vista and halflife2 episiode 2.

Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz
2 x 8800gtx sli - drivers are the 165.69 - latest ones on the nvidia website.
4gig ram
680i motherboard

Also got some stuttering as well in a few places and had to exit the game at one point as it was really jerky. Everything else pretty much ran beautiful with 0 problems at max graphics at 2560x1600 res
 
i have had problems w\ the GMan scene, sound stops, and my FPS drops sharply. it happens at the end too. i think it has to be a bug in the nvidia drivers, everyone i know who has a nvidia gpu, has problems.
 
Im having bad problems with the cutscenes, thats why I had to watch them on YouTube xD

Nvidia 5200 or w/e its called.
 
Sounds driver related. Have you tried updating your graphics driver?
