Anyone still getting probs crashing?

I just recently finaly fixed mine from crashing. I didnt have time to read back alot to see if anyone came up with anything. Just wanted to say I underclocked my front bus to the speed of my ram. If you have a mobo that lets you do this it normally works fine, but this game does not want to let you.

Just a heads up, tell me if it was already posted or if it helps anyone else.

Crashing

Its probably just overheating. Underclocking will allow the machine to run cooler. An alternative would be to get more air into the CPU box. Also, check to make sure you havent gathered a lot of dust and wooly boogars in the fans and heat sinks.

haha, trust me. its nothing to do with heat. its the same crash that everyone was complaining about. my cpu temp was/is fine. im thinking its some optimization code. otherwise its just bad programming. i turned it back up but did it a diff way this time, and it still runs good. its sometihng to do with using pc2700 when my bus speed was running at pc3200

When is everyone having these crashes? Is it before or after they start mastering the art of overclocking?

overclocking ram == memory glitches (less offten with better ram).

hl2 eats ram like no other, so minor memory glitches are amplified.
