For those of us who have played through the game with the commentary (which is very interesting), you will know that the clip of Juddith and the Arctic Base in the citadel is actually modelled and animated in the area of the Direct Intervention level, it is just seperate from everything else. Thanks to the magic of "noclip", I decided to snoop around the Arctic base for any clues of the project.

Although there is no other extension to the Base itself, the clipboard in the background at the end of the hall had some interesting (and amusing) images.

Here are just a few:

That same clipboard is in Kliener's lab in HL2. The schematics depict the resistance's teleporter. As you don't see the clipboard in normal gameplay, it's best considered placeholder rather than as something that holds any significance, since the chances of two identical clipboards many hundreds of miles apart are pretty slim. Valve just needed a clipboard in the scene and used one they had modeled, because you aren't going to see it up close and personal in the transmission. In the unlikely case this actually is significant, it could suggest that Kliener was directly involved in the project before coming to City 17.

Anyway "Find more watermelon for Lamarr" sounds funny :D
I never turned much attention on this in the game.

And the second image is a diagram Kleiner drew from dissecting a headcrab...

...and thus Lamarr was born. (Is it just me, or in the same picture, there is a zombie drawn on the left on the yellow note?)

Also, I found the picture that Alyx drew of Kleiner pretty funny. Calling him "Uncle Kleiner"...

EDIT: And yes heer0, that is indeed a fast zombie drawn on the yellow note.

It's also spelled wrongly. You'll notice that it says 'Kliener', not 'Kleiner'.

ha, she even spells it 'Dr. Kliener'. Terrific little girl, terrific.
