ATI X800 Issuses= Joke

this rig is no slouch and im not the only 1 having problems with high end Cards.

HL2 runs maybe 10-15mins then CRASH .. system hardlocks only reset will fix it. Set the FPS ta 100 as per a previous thread sorted sum stuttering out have tried 3 sets of Cat drivers 4.9 4.10 4.11 and it still happens THIS IS A JOKE.

Any1 have a suggestion? ideas cause i doubt Vavle will give a rats arse.

AMD 3400+
1 GB DDR 500
K8T MSI Board
BBATI X800XT PE Vid Card Cat 4.11 drivers atm
Win XP Pro SP1
Raid1 74gb Raptors
Audigy 2

ALL drivers upto date
Steam purchased Gold pack.

btw sum 6800 users are have similar issues.
 
I had the same problem with my x800 pro.

Turned off vsync and put fsaa to 8 and aa to 4 and it didnt crash at all.

The x800+ run pretty hot.
 
was gonna say it sounds like a heat issue. Check your fans.
 
thnx for the replys the cards runnin maybe 60 c could be the prob ATI4 Artic fan on the way i get a screech sound in the head set just before it happens explosions n stuff usually then screech lock.
 
Maybe its not the card maybe the mouse in your computer quit running in the power wheel.
 
omg. THIS IS crazy,

I was reading the posts at hl2fallout and everyone got bugs and loading errors.

this is not a hardware, software problems, its the game.

VALVE PLEASE I AM PAYING MONEY £35, SO I NEED A WORKING PRODUCT NOT A JOKE. ;(
 
my game worked fine.

It does sound like hardware problems your having. The game seems to push the hardware hard, and heat it up quite a bit. My 6800 gets pretty hot playing it (althought I installed it about 30 seconds before unlocking HL2 so I can't comment on relative temperatures).

Try putting some extra fans in, removing any overclocks, or just simply taking the side panel off!
 
don't take the side panel off. that will screw up your airflow and make things even hotter.
