We have resolved the issues that caused some to experience delays with Half-Life 2 authentication earlier today.

Anyone else having the smg reload to 45 when switching to crowbar and back? (like the fast silencer thing in CS)

I'm on 56k and it's stuck at 99%. While it says I can play the game, I would like to play it in offline mode so I don't have to stay online.

i got a message saying it didnt register but i was aloud to play hl2 and cs:s.
When do i have to try and register again?
I can play online with no problems does that mean i dont have to worry any more?

i was given the same message earlier today when i first entered the key, but just 30 minutes ago got a confirmation that my key was accepted through steam.. it seems to work fine now..(i anticipate offline mode will now work, although i haven't tried it yet)

Hey Cliffe, I authenticated around release this morning and it worked great! Glad to hear that any problems there were with the process have been cleaned up.
