Authentication Error!

I just got this game from my friend. I got his account, changed the email, password, and secret question. Steam works with the name; however, the games do not.

When I click to load Halflife2 it appears to be decrypting steam files, but eventually stops at 82%. It keeps zooming to a stop at 82%.

OK.

As for CS:S it actually loads the game. I see the menu and all. I go to connect to a server and dbl-click one that looks good. It appears to be loading. It even downloads sounds and whatever else that is particular with the server, but after that it stops and gives me this message:

"Disconnect: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket (server was unable to contact the authentication server, 34.."

Let it stay on 82% it takes a while at that stage.

Do you have a firewall or router?

Yeah i also stole an account from someone to,
and it gave me the same error.

Actually, It's a legit copy.

Yes, I have a firewall on. I actually had an error with the Blizzard Downloader just now and it told me to change my firewall settings, so I'll see if that makes difference.

Log out of the account and then log back in.
