Well i recently installed the auto assault beta , and i must say it is my fav mmo i have played ever! the reason mostly is because its not in a fatasy worl with goblins and dwarfs but is set in the future with car combat instead of clicking a button and lettin the computer do the rest you actually feel like your fighting enemies instead of the computer. go check it out and sign up for the beta.

... or, like me, you could get bored with it very quickly.

Boring, repetitive... it just got old, fast.

i see well im having some fun with the game havent got bored yet!

Sounds like the recipe for success...

being a beta there are some problems with the gameplay but thats why were beta testers so we can fix these problems!

It's pretty good. There's not so much grinding as there are questing. Plus, I bet you haven't visited all of the cities either.

So I guess the argument for those who thought it's boring is that you didn't spend enough time on it.

i havent been to all the cities im doing all the missions right now, also i would like to point out that the suppport from netdevil for the game is extremely good. i had a problem getting my pass and nickname workin and i submitted at the auto assault site and like 30 minutes later they put in the info in for me and i could play , i havent really explored the game that much though just one question where the hell can i find a trick and trims shop lol im a biomek named BulletProof check for me online :P

ps havin so much fun with this mmo cant wait for them to release it so i can play it 24/7 with the beta i can only play fri/sat/sunday

Wow so much news form the auto assault front ill keep it short:

Game trailers has a new video up: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=116

also here some some more news straight from the source:

GameDaily also got to see Auto Assault in our recent West Coast Tour, and they have some impressions about the new power allocation system, pets, Limited Edition specs, and more.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

Perhaps the two biggest additions, aside from all the graphical tweaking (while much improved, still needs "more") and boosting the number of characters allowed per server to 12, is the inclusion of the new Battle Mode and Power Allocation Systems. There is a small HUD piece above the Health/Power/XP window in the lower-right corner of your screen showing three different icons for the Battle Mode System: Stealth, Combat and Sniper. These can be changed on the fly, but only one mode can be active at a time. Each class has three modes, and when used properly can greatly improve your stats.

The New Power Allocation System is just as cool. Surrounding the speedometer is a new ring with three different power modes: Speed, Offense and Defense. Clicking on any of these options in the outer ring allocates more power to one of them. But doing so will decrease the other stats. So for instance you move the dial to Speed, your speed will be boosted by 20%, but both your offense and defense powers will be reduced by 13%. You can click the button in the center to return to a neutral state.

also even more news:

NCsoft and NetDevil's West Coast Tour was a huge success, featuring Auto Assault for a number of publications and online sites and generally having a good time. GameSpy's front-page feature article about this visit is now available.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

The key element of our demonstration, however, was to finally unveil the last major element of Auto Assault -- player versus player combat. While this element hasn't exactly been "secret," there's been much speculation on what its final form would be. Would it be on all the time or would it be voluntary? Would players be able to opt out of it if they wanted to, and how could it be kept balanced between player skill and the acquisition of better loot from high-end PvP areas? NetDevil, it seems, has an impossible challenge -- to balance the competing expectations of PvE and PvP players as well as the typical MMO audience and the action gamers that NetDevil is obviously hoping to attract...

...NetDevil has also given serious consideration to the different types of PvP combat that players will have available. Universal, organized PvP combat will be accessible from the get-go through the OCD, or the Organization for Combat Driving. The OCD is somewhat similar to World of Warcraft's Battlegrounds system in that it's a separate parallel play structure specifically devoted to PvP. The OCD system is far more elaborate, however, with a full ladder and player and clan ranking systems, as well as providing for pick-up games. NetDevil plans to schedule tournaments with unique prizes as well as clan competitions. Interestingly, they've also taken a few lessons from their competition by instituting cross-server functionality and allowing intra-racial combat only in the OCD arena. This is clearly to avoid the perpetual World of Warcraft problem of finding games because of a lack of opponents. They're also disallowing the use of any in-game items, which should serve to make OCD competitions more skill than stat-based.

Okay... I've decided to give it another whirl...
And lo and behold... the updater's giving me shit.
It finishes updating and doesn't do anything afterwards. :|

I didn't have fun with this, and by now it's impossible for them to redo parts of the game (to make it a LOT more fun).... Like they can't redo parts of the core gameplay or anything right now.
