AVI-Kit help?

Hi, I trying to play a movie in HL2 using the following AVI Toolkit:

Now, they did it in HL1, but did really eloborate on how they did so in code. I'm trying to use it in HL2, and it supposedly is possible because others have said they have done so.

So, I'm been looking through the code for the AVI-Kit and it looks great. Does anyone have any information a little more specific as to how to integrate this into HL2? I understand that I get a char* that contains the RGB data from the AVIKit class, I'm just a little confused as to how I take this and apply it to a texture in the game itself. I went through the tutorial on the Valve wiki for making animated tga's; however, it compiles all of these into a vtf. It just seems that steaming an avi is going to be quite different. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
