Citizen Kane
Casablanca
Star Wars Trilogy
Anything by Fellini that stars Marcello Mastroianni
Anything by Ksieszlowski
Most things by Hitchcock before '67

Any of these can vie for the title.

But what do I hear.. Jackie Chan?, Matrix?, Dumb & Dumber?

sigh.. maybe I'm just taking all this too seriously.

Saving Private seems to be on everyones list, and mine :), its a kewl film, the end bit was the best part of the whole film :)

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (and TTT of course, but not as good as FotR)
The Matrix
Jurassic Park
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Ice Storm :)))
Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls

hmm, did I leave any out ? :)

There's a good movie from 1950, "the big leap".

Pulp fiction.

Cohen borthers' films.

All Edward Norton's movies (except for the italioan job - nice movie, but not best).

Ghost Dog.

Matrix is cool.

Fight Club.

5. The Wicca Man
6. American Beauty ;(
7. Monty Python: Now For Something Completly Different + Monty Python and the Holy Grail + Monty Python's Life Of Brian + Monty Python's Meaning Of Life (all Equally Great, shame Graham's dead )

Equilibrium
Platoon
American Beauty
SW trilogy (the originals, not this new crap):afro:

Gladiator
Shawnshawk Redemtion
Forrest Gump
Leon
Terminator 2
and the Star Wars series..

and more

It's a Wonderful Life (not my favorite, but it is a "classic")
Wizard of Oz (also a "classic")
Back to the Future
Indiana Jones
Star Wars
The Matrix

Since it's too hard to narrow down --

Cohen Brothers films (Like The Big Lebowski!!!)
Kubrick films (Go 2001: A Space Odyssey, and FMJ, and A Clockwork Orange, etc.)
Tarantino films

And even though this is really a play, it's one of my favorite films
Death of A Salesman.

Edit: American Beauty was good too -- Saw it on someone's elses list and reminded me. And Apocalypse Now. And 24 - The Series.

My Top 10 - In no particular order

1. The Terminator (you know what its about)
2. Alien (marines fight aliens)
3. Bloodsport (Van Damme fights in a full-contact tournament)
4. The Matrix (you know what its about)
5. Gladiator (Maximus versus the caesar)
6. Predator (soldiers versus an evil alien)
7. True Lies (you know this one too)
8. Independence Day (ditto)
9. Saving Private Ryan (WWII film)
10. Forest Gump (the life of a normal person)

- Apocalypse Now
- Das Boot
- Shawshank Redemption
- The Godfather (I & II)
- Band of Brothers Series
- Terminator Series

SPR = thumbs down , too unrealistic

whats so unreal about SPR? I thought it was very real.

In no particular order, and probably missing loads that I cant remember at the moment...

The Big Lebowski
Shawshank Redemption
Donnie Darko
Band of Brothers
24 (well, if I can include BoB :p)
American History X
The Matrix
Final Destination
Point Break
Seven
Back to the Future (trilogy)
All Monty Python
Pulp Fiction
American Beauty

We can include 24....? Yessss!!! Best television series ever made.

My Top 5

1. Fight Club
2. Seven
3. Matrix
4. Matrix Reloaded
5. Natural Born Killers

1. Lord of the rings 1 and 2 ( beyond great/ masterpiece)
2. The Matrix ( well that can I say, it owned!)
3. The Royal Tenenbaums (pure genius/ very original)
4. Star wars/ Empire strikes back ( the others just fail badly)
5. Taxi Driver ( simply great )
6. Full Metal Jacket ( original take on Vietnam)

A movie you wont see on this list is The Matrix Reloaded, or Star wars Attack of the Clones.

For the Matrix Reloaded see
here

As for the The Attack of the Clones, it was visualy cool. But the story line was horribly written. Why does anakin talk like a robot through out the movie? Why does princess padme fall down from the pillars land on the back of that creature and then kiss anakin on the cheek?!! Wtf is that about, so lame! I'm not basing my opinion on just those things about the whole movie, i just don't want to talk about it anymore lol. :)

1- LOTR (all of them, even though ROTK isnt out yet)
2- Pulp Fiction
3- The Royal Tenenbaums
4- Fight Club
5- American Beauty
6- Akira (anime)
7- Gladiator
8- Wedding Singer (god I love that movie)
9- Monty Python and the Quest for The Holy Grail
10- X-men (all of them, even though there's only two out)

This list is not in order (X-men would be up higher if it was in order). Anyway, did anyone know their not just making 3 X-men Movies, their making 6! YEAH!!! Gotta love it

In no real order:

Pulp Fiction
Saving Private Ryan
We Were Soldiers
Shawshank Redemption
Star Wars Trilogy
Rocky series
Resevoir Dogs

Probably a bunch more I cant think of.
