Every single moment - especially the ones involving people (Eli, Alyx, Breene, etc.) - was like watching a movie, only better. It felt like I was in the game.

Nothing short of amazing how Valve brought me into this world and let the story unfold.

Yea it was okay... not "okay" in a bad way just i feel so indifferent i really don't know what to think :)

It wasn't totally "blown" away but i've become sorted jaded playing so many video games hehe... by far the best story\gameplay in a FPS shooter i've played, by far

Yes valve has done an exceptionally good job in making the player feel like their in the world. The thing is normal gamers dont see this and think its just plain stupid. This is why Half-Life does not get the full credit it deserves sometimes.

I let my friend play HL2. He wasn't paying attention to the characters, just banging on stuff and acting retarted. That made me sad. The character interaction really makes the game.

An amazing game indeed. I don't consider it the best or my absolute favorite but it was definintaly worth the wait and it is definitaly the best PC FPS since HL1 and in my opinion it slightly surpases HL1.

HL2 is an incredible game, i just finished beating the game on hard, and i must say i had few to no complaints in the game. it was too short, and too easy, other than that it was near perfect.

Ive been extremely Happy. Makes Doom3 Look like some three year old Painted it in photo shop!

I have only played this game today, I was blown away, its intense, real and so much fun. The game is just amazing so far, and I dont think I have even got that far! :D

Yea. Yay for HL2!

Boo for WoW beta ending. *sniff*
How is getting owned by infernals, darklords, and dragons while everyone is turned into chickens a bad ending?! :P

Let me clarify.

I'm sad that WoW beta ended. The ending, however, was a complete blast!

The GMs ported me to Orgrimmar with 5 minutes left... and dropped me into a TON of Horde.

But that's neither here nor there.

*Ahem* Yes, talking about HL2...

i think the levels were a little too drawn out. i mean in highway 17 you go stop at a little area with some buildings and combine, press a lever, get back in your buggy, go back to a little area with some small buildings and combine do something else, go back in your buggy go back to a little area with some small buildings and combine........... like 5 more times after that. i got tired of it so now i just drive by all the combine without stopping to fight them. :bonce:

Anyone who says this game isnt the best FPS ever is completely Insane.

Anyone who says the story sucked is either too lazy to really notice all the little tidbits.. or was completely unaware of HL1.

The gameplay is incredible... I have never been so satisfied by scoring a kill on an enemy soldier. By the same token, I have never been so irritated by anything like headcrabs before. And last but certainly not least... HOLY SHIT @ THE PHYSICS!!!!.

Here's a little story. I'm walking up to this door wich is currently holding 5 or 6 Combine soldiers. I open the door, toss a grenade in and watch it land amidst some barrels. The door closes and I here the grenade go off. Then i here the tell-tale hiss of a barrel on fire. So I open the door just as the barrel explodes and almost shit my pants as a combine soldier comes flying a good 30 feet through the door and slams into me. For the life of me, I couldnt get my lower jaw to go back into place.

That's what's cool about that part. Most of those places, you don't have to stop. If you feel like getting into more fights, or need to find some health really bad, you stop. If not, you keep on driving. =)

Yeah, I agree with that Panda, it was a bit silly. Couldn't we just have a really nice long bit where you just drove in a straight (or more or less straight) line running heeps of bugs and combine over? Never really happened unfortunately.
