Big Brother bill: game developers liable for gamers actions

deferring blame ...dont blame the person who actually committed the crime, blame someone else!

the crowd cheers: "someone else, someone else, someone else"

That is a tenet of the left. You should be cheering.

Oh grow up.

It is the truth, maybe not for the left, but personal responsiblity is disappering every day.

Hear about those teens jumping from Garage to garage in Florida? Guess who's fault that was? The garage owners.

Hear about that lady who stuck a hot cup of coffee between her legs? Guess who's fault that was? McDonald's.

Hear about the overweight teen who says McDonalds made her fat? Guess who's fault that was? it was going to be McDonalds but a judge dismissed their case.

Hear about Columbine or most any gun crime? Guess who's fault that is/was? Some people would like to sue the gun manufactureres.

My little girl told this other little girl to cut her hair today. The girl cut her hair and guess who's fault it is? My little girl. Nope, the other girl isn't at fault for being stupid and the teacher gets onto my kid. I have already disciplined her and she knows better.

That has nothing to do with what I said. My point was that the thread was being derailed by petty political bickering amongst members.
Get on topic.

"Oh hello. What're you in court for?"
"Taking Valve to court because my son killed another child with a crowbar. He was possibly mentally astranged, and he had no friends or ability to relate to other people. And I ignored the warning label on the game because y'know, he was screaming in a public place for it, and I just wanted him to shut up.

But damn that Gabe Newell. Damn him for producing a game intended for a mature audience, with mature content and themes. Damn him and his horrid mind altering his ways! Did you know Gordon says at one point "Go out and kill your friends"? Yeah, I know. That's Gabe Newell's voice.

All I want is justice."

I hope they slip on the damned cheque and die.

Yeah, I just realised the problem with that is...

well, their bastard offspring or spouse would probably sue the bank who issued the cheque.

It's so horrible. Poisonous bitchy little squabbles because heaven forbid you might even agree in the slightest on anything with someone from the opposite end of the political spectrum. No, the sensible thing is to deride them for no very good reason and crowbar in some tenuous, childish jibes.
These people are supposed to be adults, for f*ck's sake.

who's bickering?

the denial of personal responsibilty for ones actions is a strong and popular idea among liberals/lefties.

Bodacious hit my point dead on.

Because the right never shirk responsibility?
What fabulous hypocrisy.

Oh good. Thats obviously correct then, and makes it ok to single out members on unrelated discussion because of it.

You know what? Build a bridge, and get over it :D

Why don't you act like the "bigger man" and stop trying to score tiny, insignificant little victories everywhere like you're some little kid fighting in the schoolyard.
