Big Problem

im trying to reinstall HL2 on my comp, i get to the licencing agreement, scroll down but the 'i accept the licencing agreement' line never goes bold i.e i cant click on accept. it always stays on 'i do not accept...'
ive no idea what the problem is here, is it a reg file somewhere?

im uninstalled steam, reinstalled it. restarted my comp several times...cleaned the disk...dunno what else to do..much help appreciated.

Isn't the lisencing agreement you have to scroll through on the retail CD installer?

when you click on 'install HL2'
it says 'checking for installed products'
then goes to the licencing screen.
i scroll down. right to the bottom, but the 'i agree' box doesnt get highlighted.

oh and my computer is fine btw. you a great help

i had that problem for a minute, it wudn't highlight, theres something it does to check you'v read it, when u actually dont have to, try scrolling up and down rapidly, top to bottom and then slowly, or maybe even try reading it, that worked for me.

tri scrolling up and down threw the intire things and waitin a little, then scroll some more, like your actualy reading it! maybe the put some kinda anti-noread devise in it so people read it!

il keep trying, but it doesnt seem to want to highlight :S
its very wierd. i uninstalled it properly so it cant be that, unless theres a certain bug doing it.

ive fixed it now, went into the reg using regedit, searched for 'valve' 'steam' 'half life 2' etc and deleted all the reg keys.
removed the directory C:\ program files\valve which was left after the uninstall.
restarted.
and boom i scrolled down and 'accept' goes bold. ty guys for the help

Go to Start Menu > Run > type "regedit" and press enter.
