Black people outraged at RE5

she addresses your points ..you'd know that had you read the article

I'm a racist anyway. I hate everybody equally.

This is problematic on so many levels, including the depiction of Black people as inhuman savages, the killing of Black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young… fearing, hating, and destroying Black people.

I can't help but laugh my arse off at this.

Resident Evil 5 is already raising questions about racism

And it shouldn't be. The only people calling RE5 racist would be blacks. I doubt anyone else is racist enough to think what they do. I saw it as a game set in Africa nothing more.

Sounds familiar yet? Yup, we could be talking about the HIV/AIDS crisis, which has killed 15 million Africans, and infected 25 million others on the continent. Especially since one of the few sentences spoken in the Resident Evil 5 trailer is, “Casualties continue to mount over the long years I have struggled.”

Or not. Zombies = infected folks. Zombies + Black people != subtle HIV refernce.

Or maybe we’re reminded of the "one drop rule," concocted by racists who feared miscegenation in the era of slavery and Jim Crow to create a definition of whiteness. Is that what’s lurking behind the premise of this game?

Or mabye your blowing a zombie game out of proportion. It wouldn't be the first time video games having been targetted for socieities evils.

Yeah I sort of went through both and was editting a bit and hit save by accident.

One of my best friends is black and I am outraged! (although it's not his fault - I blame the parents)

Back in the days of Uni I called a black person a "****ing dimwitted moron" ofcoure that didn't go down well with calls of racist. I quickly gazed at those people and immediately called them the racists. If you didn't observe our conversation how do you know whether or not my cussing was caused by racial hatred? I swear the general public just get's more stupid as the days go by.

where does it say black people are outraged?

Here we go fun time. No really now. Often that not at least in my experiences whenever an action occurs that somehow puts a white guy above a black guy the blacks are quick to call the white racist. The actual action itself doesn't matter. Some (read: not all) of these folks just love playing the victim and we let them get away with it.

And I addressed hers which are obviously written in such a way as to generate the most hits for that website.

Are you trying to say that black people hate black people? Surely not, they'd see the game for what it is and have a laugh. If it's black on black any racism arguments don't have a leg to stand on the way I see it. Hell the initial argument doesn't have a leg to stand on. It takes a slightly sick mind to actually spot something and call it racist unless it is blatantly obvious. Crying out that somethings racist every time there are more white people killing black people in a video game is a cop out we all know it. Reverse the situation and suddenly there is no problem.

Relax. My statement was based on one of the stereotypical ideals of the black community also found in movies and comedies; culture shock and it's impact on people of the same group when presented into a new place. My jokes always fail only because the internets is serious business.

Pssh, i'm buying the game just so I can kill Africans.

What?! They're ZOMBIES? Damn.

Seriously, the writer of the 1st article needs to piss off.

Why is it that when you shoot white people only it's not raciest? Only black people? Besides, it's not like Afirca is teaming with white people anyway.

Now what if capcom portraited(spelling?) Africa with only white people?
Blacks would probably get offended for not being in a game that takes place in their own country.

I say- Resident Evil 5- A New Threat in Iraq

Black people have a chance to become lead role in a resident Evil game, as zombies no-less. They should be greatful. Maybe they should stick a few white zombies in the game and say they were just unfortunate "tourists" or peacecorps advocates or something?:|

This game needs to happen. White people who claim to be 'offended' by this are people with racist tendencies that they subdue by pointing fingers at more obvious racist issues. Such as Resident Evil 5.

What's really, really brilliant about this whole racist/racial issue episode is that we've seen practically nothing of the actual game. For all we know the game only has like, one chapter that takes place in Africa blowing the heads off black people with a black shotgun whilst laughing blackly.

Black.

Lenny: Black? That's the worst color there is. No offense there, Carl.
Carl: Nah, no problem I get it all the time.

My post wasn't 100% serious either.
