Blood, corpses & flying bullets

Hello!

The question I'm asking may sound weird to some, but for me the matter is very important. So what I wanted to ask is:

Is there any way I can make new blood decals be seen while I'm shooting the corpse? All I see is that the bullets just go through it damaging the floor underneath it. The next annoying thing is that when I kill a person with one shot the blood decal on the head doesn't show up.

Is there any command for the console that is able to enable such thing?

More specially from that thread are the commands below.

violence_ablood [0,1] - If set to 1 shows alien blood when they are hit. Disabling this can improve performance but reduce realism.

violence_agibs [0,1] - If set to 1 shows alien gore when they are hit. Disabling this can improve performance but reduce realism.

violence_hblood [0,1] - If set to 1 shows human blood when they are hit. Disabling this can improve performance but reduce realism.

violence_hgibs [0,1] - If set to 1 shows human gore when they are hit. Disabling this can improve performance but reduce realism.

However, the body decals are turned off by default on DX7 settings. If that is your case, read this.

Nope, unfortunately all my violence_* settings are set to 1, a my graphics card support DX8.

All these settings refer to "alive" entities though and it seems impossible to see blood decals on corpses when I shoot them (after they die :). All that happens when I should a dead body is that the floor underneath them gets damaged and the body slightly shakes. There are no decals appearing on them, but I do see blood decals on live entities (before they die).
 
Yesterday when I was playing around, I stumbled across a way to enable the appearance of blood decals on the corpses. I can't remember how I did it (Though I remember setting something to "0" strangely enough), but it just happened.

Unless it's something that's enabled by default in Garry's mod, and I never noticed it before... But I'm pretty sure I would've.

It's a case of slowly going through the console, typing in a couple of letters at a time, scrolling through the list of possible commands, and playing with the ones with relevant wording.

I miss the old gib effect of HL. And the cockroaches.
 
I checked all of the console commands and I've only found r_drawmodeldecals [0/1]. If you switch it to 0 you won't see any decals on models.

I've also tried Garry's mod and blood is indeed visible even on corpses, but strangely not on the head :/. I think I'll have to download the SDK, a try to modify the game on my own. It shouldn't be difficult.
 
Man I wish i could attack corpses and they would react realistricaly instead of bullets just hitting the ground under them. I hope someone figures it out because that's what's bothering me the most about HL@.
 
This is EXACTLY what I've been trying to figure out how to do, I REALLY hope someone posts the solution to everyones benefit.. especially mine. :cheers:
