http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/19...6206/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-1866360-7801619?ie=UTF8 <<-- I've been waiting for that one for a long time (it keeps slipping further and further back, likely to include the stuff Valve has added recently like HDR). My hope was to have this book two months ago and start modding over the summer. Oh well...

Yes, I could just go to some websites and follow the tutorials there...but I think the book would be more fun. ;)

That is the book i was thinking of getting... im gunna order it in with the ISBN.. but hay im gunna use both!... i need some reading material :D hehe

It was first supposed to be out around the same time as Raising the Bar.

Then it was delayed to around April of this year.

Then it was delayed again to a publishing date of June 1st.

Now it's been delayed again until August.

I think we'll be lucky to get this thing by Christmas...

who the hell needs a book to mod hl2

just do it anyway

interlopers.net ftw

The book > Interlopers.

I'm talking in terms of handyness too.

True, you don't need the book in order to mod Half-Life 2. Just like you don't need a book to do any other kind of programming.

But it's still nice to have something like that in front of you. Books tend to be more organized than the tutorials on the web anyway.

I also view this book as kind of a collector's item, much like Raising the Bar.

at the first line i bristled, second i calmed down :P

to be honest, books are harder to do PC work out of than a webpage
