well,we know Breen was talking to an adviser in the citadel in Ep.1,and he spoke of not being able to survive somewhere without a host body
but what was he speaking of exactly?
what is his host body gonna be?
where wouldn't he survive without the host body?

Where ever the portal would have sent him. It is likely that changing the coordinates of a portal destination is far more complicated than point and clicking. It could even take many minutes, hours, days. In any case there probably wasn't time to change it before Gordon punted him out of a window with the Grav gun.
If you ask me the reason why this particular scene was replayed it's because it's very important. It is speculated that Breen is now an advisor, or that he survived his plunge to the citadel's base.

No. If Breen survived, it will take the piss.

If that exchanged meant nothing I don't think they would have replayed it so it can be viewed from start to finish clearly by the player. Vavle would have just had the advisor pop up while Alyx was examining the controls. At least that's what I think.

"Last time, on HL2..."

It's a recap. It was wut, two years in development?

One of the last things in HL2 you see is Breen talking with a Combine Advisor. The Advisors themselves are now very important, and much of the Episodes is about revealing them as characters. The replay of that conversation was to remind you of it, and by extension the Advisors.

Duh nuh nuh nuh nuh, MECHA BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN

Seriously, he's a robot now.
