Bugs, Antlions, Did I miss anything?

The part after you fight that big Ant Lion thing for the first time, where you the Vorton guy tells you to come inside, didnt work for me, so I noclipped past it and went to the next stage. In the next stage, the Antlions are no longer aggressive to me and follow me around and kill my enemies.

What did I miss by noclipping past the previous buggy area? Was I supposed to get something (I read on the foruyms about bug bait?), and why are they not aggressive anymore?

The Vortigaunt gives you bugbait at the site of your kill. You just learn how to use it properly in the Vortigaunt camp. (Basically, select it and toss to direct ant-lions to the chosen area. Alt-fire calls all nearby ant-lions to you.)

I don't want to use a cheat that gives me stuff I don't have already. I just want a cheat that gives me the bugbait.

I think you'd be best off reloading a bit before you encounter the alien. Trying a second time may get around the bug.

Cheat is a simple fix, but I always try to see every little bit of every game. :E

I already played past it and am quite a bit into the prison, so I didn't want to restart. I found the cheat, btw. Its give weapon_bugbait.

BTW, you will find that the bugbait is actually quite useful even when no ant lions are around. Throw one at some combine soliders and they will get confused so you can kill them easily.

Because he said "where you the Vorton guy tells you to come inside, didnt work for me", so i would assume it was his only option other than restarting the level/last section.
