is there anyway to burn half-life 2 and stuff if i get it off steam? i really want the CDs but i also really want Dod:source

Yes, you can burn the preload files.

You probably can just burn the .gcf's onto cd's or a dvd.

If you want DoD:source then you could buy the Collectors Edition, or if you can't get that then buy it separately. Or if it gets released for the standard edition owners as a free download like the old dod and cs.

You could burn the files to CDs/DVD and give them to whoever you want. It's not illegal. You still need an account to play them. This was answered in the info from Valve thread.
