Called Up Valve And......

When I was home today I wanted to call up Valve for the hell of it and ask them if they have a release date for Half Life 2 and they said that they dont have and official date so what does this mean including I wasent speaking to the person that developed the game I was speaking to the Operator so mabey she doesent know anything but what do you guys think?.
