It will run, but at the lowest settings and with a low resolution, I am afraid. Your vid card is the bottleneck. Another 512MB of RAM wouldn't hurt either.

Hmm... Only half a gig of RAM, and with that vid card? It'll run, but you'll probably be running it at "low" across the board :/

a half decent video card would make all the difference in the world ..I had close to your same specs but with an ati 9800 pro ..I played the demo at medium settings and it ran great

you can probably find a 9800pro used for about $70 US

I also need to play it all on low, and it still looks pretty good. I put in 256 more RAM in (I have 768 now) and I can play go up one level in resolution lol.
I recommend you buy more RAM, but buying a new video card would be a good choice too. Recently, I saw a 6200, with Far Cry included, for only 64 american dollars, I didn't get it because I plan on getting a kickass computer soon. As for your CPU, not much upgrading needed there

My 9800 pro didn't run FEAR at anything other than 2fps. Lowest settings.

You should have tried "enable DX8 filtering" in the graphic settings. Game went from about 10 fps to about 36 fps for me.

BTW- <RJMC> have you ever atually played a FPS at 10 fps sucessfully? Anything below about 20 fps is usually considered unplayable by most people. Try the fix ^.

Dude, I have an Athlon 3500, 2 gigs of RAM, and a GeForce 6800 and I can't even run FEAR on medium.
That should give you an idea...
