Whats episode 1 all about?? I played HL2 ages ago and have forgottes what happened story wise. Whats the "Citadel"? and what are them video calls with that guy with the white beard all about? What are them "Stalkers" in the train??

And yes, Wallace Breen, former Black Mesa administrator surrendered Earth to the Combine in a bid to save whatever was left of the species. In HL2 he's been given control over the now barren Earth and it's remaining populace. He's sort of the midway point in the Combines assimilation program.
He's driven by an unquenchable thirst for science. Come HL2's end, he takes quite a career dip.

You need to play HL1 and HL2 before you play Episode 1. You're not going to understand what's going on at all.

Errrmm, I have played Half Life 1, 2, the add on's, episode 1, and believe me without sites like this I would not have a clue what was going on. Not that I understand much of it most of the time anyway.
Actually reading some of the threads can take me quite a while. Goes kinda like this.
Start to read thread, a word like Vortigon appears, goggle word, aahh yes ok, continue to read, Odessa, hmmm, right google, ooh that was him ok yep carry on. This continues until something I read (possibly whilst googling a name) side tracks me and I forget what I was reading up on in the first place.

Keep up the good work though folks.
