cant get it to install!

well i got the game at a store not the internet, i take it home and dont bother with the disc like usual and i put the cd-key in to register a new product and stuff, then i go to play and u kno how its gotta update and stuff and it warns that my drivers arnt updated even tho ive been playing HL2 all damn week and stuff so i ignor that and hit resume anyways then it says its gotta update. then it stops updating and says i cant connect to the steam servers. its been doing this all day. anyone have the same problems? or know what to do.

It mite be because the servers are really busy, why wait to download the files when u have them on CD.

Yes... if you have the retail CD, why are you complaining that you can't install the game through the net? Install it already!
