Cant play Half Life 2 Demo

When I try to launch Half Life 2 Demo from Steam it says "The Steam servers are currently too busy to handle ur request. lease try again in a few minutes"

Its been saying that all day!! It took an hour to update the Demo too!

Can I not play it "offline" like normal Demos??

Err, when you succesfully downlaoded the demo it should launch, and not trying to request the steamservers... did you downlaoded it 100%

And oh well, forget that stupid demo, just buy the game with CSS and DoD Source and have fun :smoking:

I try launching Steam whilst my interent is disconnected, but when I click on "Stay in Offline Mode" it says "unable to launch please visit...."

Why cant I lay the Demo in offline mode?
