Can't seem to play Half-Life²: Substance Mod.

Hey all,

I'm having a problem playing the Half-Life 2 Substance V1.0X Mod. I installed it to the C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods dictionary as the installation program advised. Then I patched it with the V1.0X - V1.1 patch and added the "-heapsize 510000" command to the launch command line and I also set the video setting to low levels. It loads to the start screen ok, and everything seems to check out in the console, however when I load the game werther it be the campaign or the vr training bit, it loads nearly to the end of the loading bar and then there is a error noise and the game crashes to the desktop. I even tried seeing if the unpatched version would work, but no luck, and trying to load a game by typing load sbst_d1_trainstation_01 into the console doesn't work either. What am i doing wrong ?

My specs:

Cpu: Intel P4 2.8 Ghz
Ram: Corsair 512Mb DDR (400Mhz)
Sound card: Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2
Video card: ATI 9800XT 256Mb DDR (411Mhz Core/ 760Mhz Mem)

n/o, but it's better if everybody posts in the big thread for HL2: Substance. The mod maker (xdiesp) is helping everybody so you don't have to worry to be skipped.

I think gecko mailed me time ago,and indeed he's doing all the right things I usually suggest people to try when they have problems. It's an unsolved mistery why this kind of problems do happen on some machines only
