Clavicus Vile + Umbra

ive located the infamous Umbra(sword) but id like to slay her for the quest
apparently the quest begins at the shrine of Clavicus Vile
does anyone know where it is?

Why finish the quest in the first place especially if it might crash your system??? The mask that you get SUCKS OUT LOUD anyway!!!

What's nice is that you can get Umbra without starting the quest at all and use it until you feel like giving it over for the horribly useless Mask of Clavicus Vile to finish the quest.

IMO Umbra is the best sword in the game (so far) along with the Akavari Warblade <--(got me through the Arena in a breeze). Of course, I have yet to acquire Goldbrand which should prove another amazing piece of awesome weaponry.

from what ive read, umbra is not the best sword in the game it terms of damage
at my level(31) i would rather use a daedric claymore of longsword with fire or shock damage
and if you choose to keep the sword whilst not on the quest for it, it will not alow you to drop it because it is indeed a quest item

BTW, giving up Umbra isn't such a bad thing, since there is one shrine that can only be accessed if you complete the other daedric shrine quests. The reward is a book that boost a set of skills.

It's a fun quest. you need to challenge 9 fighters in oblivion.
Pretty easy.

The Umbra sword weighs 45... UNLESS you're doing the shrine quest. If you get the sword while working for Clavicus Vile, like most quest items, it wieghs nothing and can still be used and repaired just like any other sword. So basically, just never give the quest in and you'll find Umbra's sword to be rather light.

I just killed her without starting the quest and i can tell you its weight's 0 for me

Hahaha! I just mean in addition to, but separately from the Akavari Warblade. You can't dual wield, but you can have many different swords at your fingertips with hotkeys at least.

And yes, Umbra weighs nothing for me and I will only ever give it up if I want to complete all of the deadric shrine quests which I will want to accomplish one day...but not today!

got Goldbrand last night from Boethia's shrine
must say, its the best 1H sword ive found thus far
gives me 30dam with 125 blade skill and over 110 strength + fire damage of course
much better than umbra!

You do know that having your attributes and skills going over 100 does nothing right? You can test this will any of the casting skills. If you want to make a really powerful weapon, enchant one yourself.
