coding portal device into half-life

well,I am on an airsoft forum,and saw someone make a post stating that he coded the Portal device into Half-Life,but he isn't saying how
anyone know how to do it,or already have it done?

Either he's lying or he's playing HL2 maps in Portal. Both eqaually plausible.

Personally I doubt he's done it (atleast like the gun we all know and love) But I'm a cynic. I attempted this once using the LUA code for the GMod Portal gun and didnt get anywhere very much.

I did also see a mod for HL2 which has the portalgun in it but cant for the life of me remember what it was called.

It *is* however, possible to play the HL2 maps in Portal. I.e. you get the maps from the HL2Content GCF and dump them in the portal maps folder. (LINK!)

I did also see a mod for HL2 which has the portalgun in it but cant for the life of me remember what it was called.

Exite had a quick and nastly Portal gun in it.

the hl1 engine doesnt have render to texture so unless he implemented that through his own libraries (which is probably impossible) then theres no way he got portals to work in hl1 atleast not ones that you can look through.
