Combine Coming to Earth

Is it my understanding that the Combine came to Earth while Gordon was still in Black Mesa? As the combine technology can (as far as I understand it) only teleport from one fixed teleporter to another, unlike the Earth method of using Zen as a sling shot to send you anywhere. So to be able to come to Earth they either needed to come in ships or ,based on the the news cutting in HL2 about "Portal Storms", they some how used the Zen portals to come to Earth, which since both sets of portals opened by us and Zen aliens where closed after the few days that Gordon was in Black Mesa.

And what about the G-Man, I get the feeling he knows or his employeer knows about everything past, present and future. Hence the reason the G-Man was seen at Shepards military post looking for able troops (he seemed to be intrested in Adrian and Gordon. Was he checking them out to see which one performs better?) And was it the G-Man that put the military post on alert before the start of HL1? and when you see the G-Man in Black Mesa talking to a scientist is he trying to prevent the experiment that Breen was pushing for? And how did Breen become for the voice for the world? Why was he the one that surrendered and not the leaders of the world, does this link with the fact that Breen could of had contact with the Combine from the start, forcing these portals to be created to all them access to Earth?

No, the Combine showed up after Black Mesa. And, they can create their own portals from their universe to ours...the "portal storm" was their invasion of Earth. However, their portals are limited to only being able to travel from their universer to another universe. Local teleportation isn't available to them.

I think we are all pretty sure the Portal Storm was caused by the resonance cascade.

Portal Storms, I believe were created by the Resonance Cascade, and the Combine first noticed Earth when the Cascade took and place.

I believe that the Combine Soldiers are converted humans (you can see lots of evidence of this throughout the game), and that The Combine is an alien entity (I think this is what you see on the administrator's monitor when your teleporter first screws up). I also think that The Gman is The Combine's nemesis and that he's using Gordon as sort of a tool to tie up loose ends.
