Combine dont attack in entanglement

This is where Alyx speaks to you and tells you that many combine soldiers are coming to attack and to set up turrets. I do this and forcefields are turned on so I cannot leave the area. At this point I am expecting wave after wave of combine but only a handfull of them attack. After a bit Alyx says more are coming and still very few combine attack. Then she says she is coming to meet me but never does. So I'm stuck in an area and cannot progress.

did you set up all the turrets?
the sequence only starts when you drop the last one

I set them up next to the force field. Thats another thing when the few combine attacks the turrets do nothing. Like I said a few combine attack but not many.

maybe you should load an earlier save point - thats a common way to fix most game errors
if you're saves are all to close restart entanglement - yes its annoying but its worth it

I did try reloading an earlier save several times but its still has the same problem.

where are you in the game
1- little control room with 2 turrets and a stairs on either side
2- prison level with 3-4 turrets and 5 potential exits
you could try reloading the level
type into the console sv_cheats 1, changelevel d2_prison_0x

its one of the following, probably in the middle
