Compiling Problems

After editing my map hl2_hiddenlab... i ended up with this error while ytrying to render the map (or compile)

It comes up with this:

..i had the exact same problem today...did you do "Save As.." before?

the solution is stupid...export it to any folder..and load it again from there..then compile it...if it doesnt work, try "Check For Problems"...and it might say something about vertecies...that also happened to me...just press fix and resave and compile..if that still doesnt work post again..and ill look it up.

If the system can't find the file specified, the file specified was probably not created, as a result of a critical error occurring in the BSP process.
 
yeah it was because i had the name of it called hl2_hiddenlab2.0
 
lol... does anyone know were i can get a bed with a mattress?
 
theres both a bed model (props_c17) and a matress model...i think its also props_c17
 
yeah i know that but you carn't put the matress on the bed... i want one that has a bed and a matress as one model

yeah that works but now the bedframe goes threw the floor
 
try this. slap nodraw on a physbox and have it cover over the whole bedframe/matress thing and use parenting. cant think of any other way besides making your own model.
 
never seen that before. are you compiling on normal rad and vis? does your map have any leaks? did you check for any problems? did you build cubemaps? did you restart hammer, HL2, or even your computer? hell....i really have no educated guesses.
 
lol i have restarted hammer and i am using the hl2 rads and all of those .exe's
I don't know what started it and... now it's fixed some how... lol weird
 
yea..I've noticed, Hammer, along with every other program, is stupid like that. Sometimes, all you need to do is re-compile it.
 
I don't understand whats going on here, I was compiling and testing fine a few hours a go, now it just doesn't want to find the map it seems, its really pissing me off.

Load the pointfile (Map --> Load Pointfile) and plug the hole in your world geometry that the pointfile goes through. The map must be sealed by world brushes.

Thanks I got it sorted, I just didn't know what errors to look for, or what to do if I found them.

Edit: I thought of that, but its such a simple problem, that I didn't think It really mattered.
 
Im glad you got it working, but please don't remove or edit your post after you got it working because alot of people will have the same question as you and they might come on this thread and see
