Here are my current stats. I am running a Toshiba Satellite series laptop with a 1.7ghz Celeron M processor, 2gigs of ram, and an ATI Radeon XPRESS 200M graphics card.
My issue arises in Half-life 2 Episode 2 in the very first level near the beginning shortly after Alyx yells "Portal Storm" and the blue light comes my way. It will engulf me and then my screen will go entirely blue, my computer will repeat the last millisecond or so of sound so that it sounds like it is screaming, then promptly restart.
HL2 and Episode 1 both run perfectly on my computer on the recomended settings, but this issue keeps happening even when I set the video settings on Episode 2 all to minimum.
I am wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows how to resolve it, or even if there is a console command that will allow me to skip this part of the level in hopes that it is only the portal storm causing the trouble.
