Crossbow and a Sniper rifle?

At www.halflife2.net's weapon information page, it says that there will be a Sniper rifle. I'm not sure where www.halflife2.net is getting this information, but Valve doesn't seem to put two different weapons in a game with the same function (e.i., a M4 and an AK-74, both are assault rifles with 30 round clips).
However, the game isn't even out yet and the crossbow is the only one that has been pretty much confirmed out of the two weapons I mentioned.

they prolly got it from the vidios when they click a number the whole row comes up, and saw the sniper there, same with crossbw

That will be pretty cool if there is one I guess. It will be fun picking off those combines.. But then again, it doesn't seem right in HL2.

One of the magazene reviews said the crossbow was the closest things to a sniper rifle, I forget which one it was though, and there's always a chance they'll add one.

Yup PCG confirmed the xbow was the only sniper-type weapon in HL2. I like it that way because a real sniper rifle would seem kinda "average"... the HL xbow was something original and neat (even if it is impractical as a sniping weapon IRL).

At first, I thought you said that the Xbox was the only sniper-type weapon in Half-Life 2.

Dunno if anyone actually noticed this, but go to your \Steam\SteamApps\USERNAME\counter-strike source beta\hl2\resource folder and install those fonts.

Goto Control Panel / Fonts and copy paste the fonts into the folder for on XP. You can type in the alphabet in lowercase to look at the weapons, uppercase will show different symbols. Do all that in Word or something after selecting the font from the list.

on a side note, are the female assassins gone too? where they even in the game? all i remember is the cool concept art. they had sniper rifles.

I'd be happy with just the crossbow for sniper. though you'd think they'd be able to equip him with something better if they can give him incindiary rifles and manipulator guns. how bout those crazy looking arrows though? psychadelic man!

Yeah, personally I prefer a crossbow over a sniper rifle for hl2....

it won't ruin the atmosphere.... heh...imagine changing from your crowbar to an awesome sniper rifle with laser sightng and everything..... it'd be weird........

and plus the croosbow is cool.... ^^^ as other people have said it's quiet and stealthy...... :sniper:
