I've heard rumors of a CS 2 to accompiany the Halflife2 source. Are these just rumors? or will we be able to play counter-strike2 with the new engine skins maps models etc.?

valve have said nothing about multiplayer you know as much as everone elce ! we are all just gunna have to wait and see.

but really i dont see the big deal with CS2 it will be the same with some higher polly models and a few movable boxes, ragdoll. i dont really see how the source physics will effect the game play. it will be the same as old cs with lower fps IMHO

i would of though it would have alot of the same weapons and the same objectives, but if they made it to complex it would probly take the fun out of it, like cars and stuff it just wouldnt be cs

Hopefully they will FINALLY take the scope off the M4A1 model, they have had what.... 2 years of updates and the one thing they can't do is add a handle to the top of the M4A1?

And I doubt the game will be anymore realistic than it is now, don't expect iron-sights or anything, its gonna be jump and shoot and crouch, just with better graphics and maybe some use of the physics to drop stuff on people.

i think he's talking about the weapon model having the scope, and wanting a handle instead. and i thought it was earlier than beta 6 that they took the scope function from the colt. hmm maybe not... bleh hard to remember, it's been so long.

i think cs2 will suprise us for the better. if you think about it they have to, because cs is a very good game, most people are just sick of it by now.

CS has the pickup and playability that every game developer is looking for. I still play the odd couple of rounds (yes, even via STEAM) when I'm bored. Not so much now that the Unreal Tournament 2004 demo came out. That game is more fun than anything else that's come out since CS.

Team Fortress 2 was included with the source leak, I can't remember any CS2 stuff being there... maybe thats because I was completely uninterested in it. CS2 better not be anything like 1.6 and more like the original CS with a bit more depth otherwise I'm not going to pay much attention to it especially considering the kind of people who play it.

I don't know. I've been playing CS for as long as I can remember (When the M4 had a scope on it!) and I like 1.6 and Steam.

I think people hate the shield (me included in "people") and other minor changes

I played on and off from beta 1 to the current version... every version improved the game after the people got used to it. The only thing that bothers me is the shield... but that can be disabled.

I, too, am looking forward to TF2, CS2, DoD2, NS2(?), etc... well, any HL2 mod.
