Please tell me if there is a time limit on destroying the fusion core in "Dark Energy"? I have about 5 sec. max. to destroy the core before I time out. Assignment cancelled!

I have tried now over 100 times. I have watched the video on Gamespot about destroying the core. I seem to be doing what they show. I am blowing stuff off of the core but I always time out.

Any ideas?

Truth.

You are taking too long in getting up to the top, is what I think the problem your running into is.

The time you have is connected to how far Breen is up the central shaft. I assume that when he is at the tip, you get shafted.

Just ignore the gunships...dance around their gunfire while throwing the energy balls at the fins on the transporter...

I don't think that would work. I am shooting balls as fast as I can. I am positioned next to the tube of balls. I am doing this like the Gamespot video shows. I start by jumping on the machinery going up then jumping off at the upper level quickly start shooting balls at the transporter blowing stuff off of it. Dr. Breener is saying to get back that I don't realize what I am doing. Alex says "Oh no" I think then I get my assignment terminate because of time.

Yeah, you need to get up to the top faster then...I had plenty of time to shoot down the gunships and blow up the transporter...

I hauled ass from the re-charger to the upper level and started firing.

Have you actually seen the message about assingment terminated?

I don't see any value in shooting down the gunships as my health stayed good.

You have to get to the top of the chamber fast. If Breen teleports out, the whole chamber 'slodes, more or less. So you gotta get up there really fast, shoot down his shields and ram an energy ball into the teleporter.

Now that you know how to get there, should be a piece of cake for you to finish off the ending

Meh apparently he's too slow getting up there. I can take my time shooting balls, and he has like 5 seconds only so it's probably that.

You have about 7 minutes to get to the top from the bottom. I just replayed that part the other day and i got up there so fast that I failed. I thought I had to blow up the thing while Breen was up there. So I waited five minutes to fail.:O

It takes me about 5 mins to get to the top and i still beat it.

When it starts to move it just leaves with me and down I go
