Eh, what was Darwinia about? That Darwin dude who had those "little swimmer" theories?

As I've said in another thread regarding this, Valve is ****ing awesome.

You might try downloading the demo, or reading about it at the site.

Don't be too excited. It's not everyone's cup of tea. If you don't like strategy games, you may not like this.

But it's definitely pleasing to the eyes. If you like the screenshots, it would be worth a download just to be visually pleased.

its definately one of the few must play games of 2005. great they decided to go with a more reasonable $19.95 price point. the original $29.99 price was a bit much for a game that is rather short. hopefully they add the mp they have been talking about for ages now.

If you go to the demo section of the official site, it says that the new demo is an entirely new level that will be released on Steam

already played it a few weeks ago. it adds a new control scheme which imo dumbs down the game. thankfully they left the original "draw a symbol to activate a program" mechanic as an option. to me this is the key to the gameplay. it adds tension and skill to have to accurately draw a shape to get a new program going, especially when you are crunched for time.

Woot, VALVe! :D

Let's hope that the devs get enough money to make Uplink 2.0 ;)

Don't count it. In the words of the fans at the Introversion forums: "Introversion doesn't do sequels". Darwinia was lucky to get a mini sequel (the second demo)

EDIT: I wouldn't pass up an Uplink sequel given the chance though, bloody brilliant game that. Who knows, maybe Introversion will put it on Steam someday too. Make a little extra money from their old game

I ****ing hate Darwinia.

Way to go indie developers with your awesome and original games that I love so much and are so great I'd gladly buy them. In fact, I did buy Darwinia. It didn't work. I was also supposed to get a free soundtrack CD which I didn't even though I emailed them. Tech support was useless. Patches did nothing. Many emails to tech support went ignored. Thank you very much. I have supported you, indie developer, by buying your game. So can I play it? NOES. Well ****, I would have just donated 20 pounds if I'd known I wouldn't get anything for it except the satisfaction of supporting Introversion.

So now I can buy it again, on Steam, to see if it'll work yet!
