the antlions in Nova Prospect? Man, the whole way through Sandtrap I was schlepping my way across the sand with junk saying "&*#$^ing" antlions, and then in the next chapter, everytime I look behind me, there are my little buddies looking up at me! I found that to be cooler than I would have thought. Almost felt bad when some got killed, but boy, they kicked tail on the way into Nova Prospect. Dunno, maybe it was just me, it was late at night.
